Sholom Aleichem Priamursky State University has once again become a point of attraction for talented youth. This time, student basketball teams from China and the Russian Federation, particularly from the Far Eastern Federal District, met at the university. The international student 3x3 basketball tournament "Leader's Ball," which is part of the university development program for 2023–2030 of the strategic academic leadership program "Priority 2030.TheFarEast," washeldinBirobidzhanonOctober 16–21.
The tournament was held under the motto "The Far East is a place of strength".The best basketball players of the student university teams of the Russian Federation (the Far Eastern Federal District) from Birobidzhan, Khabarovsk, Vladivostok, and Blagoveshchensk and China’s team from the cities of Jiamusi, Heihe, Tongjiang,and Harbin met on sports grounds.
The tournament became a platform for free student intercultural communication, experience exchange, and warm meetings over a cup of tea with conversations about the most important things for young people. During the event, students from China got acquainted with such Far Eastern citiesas Khabarovsk and Birobidzhan.
A significant result of the tournament was the strengthening of international cooperation in the field of sports among students of the border territories of the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of China in order to develop unique opportunities for students’ self-realization.
